Compassionate Senior Hospice Manager

OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Patient Care Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will report directly to the Executive Director or Administrator and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of your assigned hospice site.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Administering the clinical aspects of the hospice program and ensuring the provision of quality care to patients;
- Managing, overseeing, and directing the services and performance of assigned team members;
- Supervising, managing performance, and directing the work of specified team members, assigning admit and evaluation visits, scheduling visits, and ensuring staff complete visits in a timely manner;
- Managing the site in the absence of the Executive Director or Administrator;
- Managing and overseeing clinical and administrative functions, including recordkeeping;
- Responding to phone referrals and inquiries in a timely, professional, and compassionate manner;
- Participating in on-call nursing schedules and providing direct skilled bedside nursing care in patients' homes.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in nursing (ASN or BSN) from an accredited school of nursing and one year of experience as an RN, licensed in the state of requested employment;
- Three years of experience in direct patient care;
- One year of management experience, with two or more years of experience in hospice or home care required;
- The ability to effectively operate nursing assessment tools and office equipment, including computers and tablets;
- Sensitivity to the feelings of the terminally ill and their families before and after a patient's death;
- Knowledge of terminally ill patients and their families, along with an understanding of the hospice concept.
