Job Title: Part-Time Community Health Engagement Specialist

Wider Circle is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Part-Time Community Health Engagement Specialist to join our team in Charleston, SC. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in running Connect for Life, our innovative program that connects neighbors for better health, empowering them to live longer, healthier lives while fostering meaningful relationships.

Our programs create a trusted community support network essential to managing better health. We partner with health plans and physician groups in neighborhoods nationwide to provide fun and educational in-person and virtual programs for members who share similar interests and life experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Wider Circle Medicaid program in your assigned area, using our developed curriculum to build trust, promote health, and encourage positive health actions.
  • Plan, advertise, and host virtual and in-person events for members, fostering relationships with and between members.
  • Create partnerships with local community-based organizations that provide resources for members.
  • Enroll prospective members into the Wider Circle Medicaid program and hold yourself accountable for achieving membership engagement, growth goals, and other metrics such as attendance and feedback.
  • Connect with members to develop individualized plans for their success in the Wider Circle Medicaid program.
  • Serve as a liaison between the member's health plan and the member.
  • Utilize Salesforce and other cloud-based tools to record member interactions and metrics.

Requirements

  • You have a strong passion for helping and serving others.
  • You understand the socioeconomic and public health challenges facing disenfranchised people, especially in your community.
  • You have 3+ years of relevant community outreach, teaching, facilitation, or volunteer experience.
  • You have excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal, and are comfortable speaking to groups of any size.
  • You have project management and/or event planning experience.
  • You prefer to work autonomously with little to no supervision.
  • You have a flexible schedule (outside of business hours) and reliable transportation when necessary.
