Emergency Medical Technician

At the University of New Mexico Hospitals, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and services. We are seeking a highly skilled Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team as a Rapid Response Specialist.
About the RoleThis is a critical role that requires excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. As an EMT-Rapid Response Specialist, you will be responsible for providing advanced life support and stabilization to patients in emergency situations.
We offer a competitive salary package, including an estimated $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to your base salary, you may also be eligible for shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives.
Responsibilities- Provide basic life support up to advanced life support, including defibrillation, oral/nasal endotracheal intubation, medication administration, and needle thoracotomy.
- Perform patient care, work autonomously to stabilize patients, and guide care until providers arrive.
- Triage emergency care, stabilize and/or prepare patients for transport, and document all patient care activities.
- Administer medications via the seven rights, provide nebulized drug administration, and document clinical findings.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Monitor and stock supply areas, maintain equipment as appropriate.
- Establish and maintain good rapport and effective working relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, and Hospitals employees.
- Educational Background: High School or GED Equivalent (essential).
- Experience: 1 year related experience (essential).
- Credentials: CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification, Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic License, PALS, and complete unit-based required certifications and competencies (essential).
