Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health in Elm Grove, Wisconsin. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient operating room environment. This includes preparing materials, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures, utilizing aseptic techniques, and maintaining a sterile field.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room for each case by setting up equipment and supplies.
  • Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment throughout the procedure.
  • Anticipate the needs of surgeons and pass instruments and supplies as required.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and safety.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver excellent patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in surgical technology.

Requirements

  • Certification in Surgical Technology (CST) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Completion of an accredited program in Surgical Technology
  • No prior experience required, but prior experience in a hospital setting is preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull heavy equipment, and stand for long periods
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
