Medical Assistant with Neurology Focus

Duke Health seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to work in our Neuro Clinic, providing exceptional patient care and supporting the interdisciplinary healthcare team. As a key member of our team, you will assist medical and nursing staff in various tasks, including taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and performing administrative duties.
Job SummaryThis is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, with varying daytime shifts. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of neurological disorders, including headache, ALS, Parkinson's disease, and more. Our clinic features a team of specialized professionals, including physical and occupational therapists, psychiatrists, and psychologists.
Responsibilities- Taking medical histories and recording vital signs
- Performing routine administrative tasks, such as updating patient records and arranging hospital admissions
- Assisting medical and nursing staff with procedures, such as disposing of contaminated supplies and sterilizing medical instruments
- Promoting patient understanding of their condition and treatment plan
We are seeking candidates who have graduated from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Prior experience as a medical assistant is preferred but not required. Our ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Salary and BenefitsThe estimated salary for this position is $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. Duke Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
