PET/CT Technologist Job Summary

At New York Imaging, we're committed to delivering exceptional patient care through cutting-edge diagnostic imaging solutions. As a PET/CT Technologist, you will play a vital role in our team by ensuring accurate, timely results that drive better patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer radioactive chemical compounds to patients.
  • Perform patient imaging procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation.
  • Accomplish computer processing and image enhancement to provide high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to physicians for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and reactions during the scan, reporting abnormal signs to physicians.
  • Perform complex PET exams, consulting a radiologist for appropriate scan procedures.
  • Gain patients' confidence by obtaining pertinent history, describing the procedure, and answering questions.
  • Monitor patients' physical condition during the procedure.
  • Note any specific patient comments that might indicate the need for additional images or be useful to physicians in interpreting results.
  • Ensure safety measures are in place to protect patients and operators from radiation exposure.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot radiologic equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements:
  • Diploma from a Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB and/or ARRT-N) certification.
  • NMTCB(CT) and/or ARRT(CT) certification.
  • NYS License required.
  • At least 2 years' experience in PET/CT imaging.
Compensation:
Up to $55 per hour based on experience, education, and certifications.
