Job Title: Logistics Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective transportation of goods. This position requires strong communication and negotiation skills to broker truckloads and containers with outsourced carrier partners. The ideal candidate will have experience in transportation management and a keen eye for detail to maintain accurate records and resolve any issues that may arise during transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load Brokerage: Source, negotiate, and secure trucking capacity to fulfill customer shipping requirements.
  • Carrier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, including negotiating rates and resolving issues.
  • Customer Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing updates on shipment status and addressing inquiries.
  • Route Optimization: Analyze shipping requirements and available carrier capacity to optimize routing and maximize efficiency.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all necessary documentation is accurately completed and processed in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during transportation.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize transportation management systems and data analytics tools to track and analyze key performance metrics.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Customer Management Systems.
  • Data entry skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a Customer Service role.
  • Transportation industry experience preferred.
