Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Imager 2 to join our team at the University of Miami's Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform supervised ocular diagnostic testing using specialty-specific imaging instruments, documenting procedures and uploading images into the electronic medical record/PACS platform.
  • Provide patient-centric care, adhering to University of Miami policies, standards, and values.
  • Comply with regulations and maintain patient confidentiality, following best practices of patient safety, hand hygiene, and infection control.
  • Complete University of Miami mandatory in-services and online training, attending educational courses for ophthalmic personnel when assigned.
  • Meet daily productivity goals, ensuring all equipment is calibrated and instrumentation is in proper working order.
  • Participate in assigned clinical research and maintain required certifications, organizing and stocking rooms for daily clinical activities.
  • Travel to satellite eye centers when necessary, working evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Perform organizational duties as assigned, maintaining OPS certifications and assisting with training of visiting imaging technicians, residents, fellows, and faculty members.
  • Work with providers, residents, and fellows to provide training and customization of imaging software, including hanging protocols.
  • Act as preceptor for imaging team members, super user for imaging technology implementations and training initiatives, and support residents, fellows, and faculty members with imaging presentations.
  • Perform ocular diagnostic examinations using specialty-specific imaging instruments under anesthesia in the OR.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • OCT-C (Certified Optical Coherence Tomography) or CRA (Certified Retinal Angiographer) certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge, skill, and attitudes including working well with patients of all age groups, presenting a professional appearance, communicating effectively, and demonstrating outstanding interpersonal skills.
