Heavy Duty Diesel Technician

US Foods, Inc. is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our diesel fleet.
About the RoleThis is a highly technical position that requires hands-on experience with heavy-duty diesel equipment, including tractors and trailers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques, as well as the ability to perform preventative maintenance within company standards.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical issues on diesel equipment
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
- Complete detailed documentation of all repair orders and maintenance activities
- Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to read and communicate in English, such as to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, read and understand technical and service manuals
- Estimated salary range: $28-$33 per hour depending on experience
