Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant Specialist to join our team at Westlife Wellness. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our providers in the delivery of quality primary health care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Rooming Process: Assist with collecting and documenting vital signs, medical history, and consent forms, ensuring accurate and timely completion of the rooming process.
  • Direct Patient Care: Provide direct assistance to licensed healthcare providers during clinical procedures, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Utilize effective verbal, written, and non-verbal communication skills to interact with patients, providers, and other staff members.
Administrative Functions
  • EMR Management: Accurately document patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, ensuring seamless communication between departments.
  • Phone Call Handling: Respond to incoming phone calls, provide patient assistance, and leave messages according to HIPAA guidelines.
Laboratory Duties
  • Sample Collection and Processing: Collect, receive, process, package, and ship laboratory samples using standard precautions to prevent exposure/injury.
  • Lab Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance of CLIA-Waived equipment, adhering to manufacturer instructions and regulatory requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Certification: Maintain current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
  • Education: Associate Degree in Applied Science from an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, exposed to moderate noise levels, blood-borne pathogens, and occasional physical demands.
Benefits and Compensation
  • Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per annum, depending on education and work-related experience.
