Job Overview

The Senior Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist is a key member of our accounting team at Creative Financial Staffing. This role requires the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data, lead efforts to identify cost reduction and productivity recommendations, and partner with plant leadership teams and other functional areas.

About the Role

This Senior Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist position offers an estimated salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, public accounting foundation experience, and 3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze overhead costs of sales and actual manufacturing costs compared to budget, forecast, and prior periods, preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Provide thoughtful analytical metrics and identify areas for cost savings.
  • Coordinate and lead physical inventories, ensuring inventory is reported accurately.
  • Ensure plant fixed assets and repairs are appropriately accounted for, including preparation or review of capital expenditure requests.
  • Oversight of processes that impact financial information ensures accuracy.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls verifying the integrity of all systems, assets, processes, and data, enhancing the company's value.
  • Proactively identify manufacturing cost trends affecting business and financial results, working closely with the Plant Manager to produce accurate and timely financial analysis.
  • Participate in special projects and compile special reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Public accounting foundation preferred.
  • Active CPA certification is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
  • Interpersonal skills, organization skills, and multi-tasking ability.
  • Communication skills (verbal and written) with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, emphasizing innovative and creative solutions resulting in higher profitability.
  • Operates with high integrity, builds trust, quickly wins credibility with others.
