We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our team at Call Your Mother Deli. As a key member of our executive leadership, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial management principles and a proven track record of success in leading financial teams. You will be responsible for creating and implementing financial strategies that support our business objectives and drive growth.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing all aspects of financial accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
  • Developing and executing financial strategies that support business objectives and growth initiatives.
  • Collaborating with executive leadership to create long-term financial plans, including the preparation of multi-year capital expenditure budgets.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulations.
  • Managing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
  • Creating and leading the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and achievable financial plans.
  • Monitoring actual performance against budgets, providing variance analysis and adjusting forecasts as necessary.

Additionally, you will be responsible for:

  • Partnering with senior management to develop, track, communicate and improve impactful key performance indicators as it relates to our day-to-day business.
  • Ensuring the company maintains strong internal controls and complies with tax, audit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously evaluating and improving financial processes, systems, and tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness across the organization.
  • Ensuring effective cash flow management, capital allocation, and risk management practices to support the company's growth and stability.
  • Conducting ad-hoc financial analyses to support strategic decisions and provide insights to senior management.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing finance and accounting team.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with other departments, including operations, marketing, and human resources, to support business initiatives and financial decision-making.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of finance and accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the quick service restaurant or retail industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience managing financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing finance and accounting teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, with the ability to work with large sets of data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence business decisions.
  • High level of integrity, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a continuous improvement mindset.
