At Native Edge Landscapes, we're seeking a skilled Irrigation Tech to join our team. As a key member of our landscape design-build and maintenance services, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the health, beauty, and water efficiency of our clients' outdoor spaces.
Key Responsibilities:- Install, repair, and maintain irrigation systems, including pipes, valves, controllers, sensors, and other related components.
- Ensure systems are functioning correctly to distribute water efficiently and perform proper system winterization and Spring startups.
- Perform routine inspections to identify irrigation system leaks, clogs, and other issues, and quickly address and resolve issues to prevent plant damage and water waste.
- Operate and calibrate irrigation controllers to ensure accurate and appropriate watering schedules based on seasonal changes and weather conditions.
- Interact professionally with clients to address their irrigation needs, answer questions, provide guidance on proper watering, and recommend system upgrades.
- Educate clients and team members on irrigation best practices, water-efficient technologies, and proper system operation.
- Maintain accurate electronic records of work performed, including irrigation system layouts, controller schedules, system inspections/adjustments, maintenance schedules, and repairs.
- Perform water feature start-ups, water quality control, cleaning, repair, and winterization.
- Maintain a safe and organized job site, reporting potential hazards to your supervisor.
- Participate in various landscape install, maintenance, or snow duties when irrigation work hours decrease, potentially leading a crew if capable.
- Clean driving record and license in good standing.
- Ability to read, understand, and execute work orders and plans.
- Ability to work up to 10 hours in a day in inclement weather, with temperatures ranging from 20°F to 100°F.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds safely on your own.
- Proficient in safely using irrigation-specific tools, equipment, and technologies.
- Strong knowledge of irrigation system components, design principles, and installation techniques.
- Ability to learn cloud-based, mobile device applications.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- 2 years of experience as an Irrigation Technician or equivalent landscape experience.
- 2 years of experience in proper irrigation equipment operation.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States, with participation in E-Verify.
