This role requires knowledge of federal, state, and local permitting requirements associated with the development and construction of new projects throughout the U.S. in market sectors such as oil and gas, electric, and renewables.

**Job Description**

We are looking for an experienced professional to prepare studies, evaluations, NEPA, and state documentation for environmental projects. The ideal candidate will have a high level of competence in technical report writing related to NEPA compliance and other types of technical reports and regulatory (Federal, State, local) permitting documents.

The successful candidate will work with project teams on various tasks, including completion of field surveys, environmental permitting with federal, state, and local agencies, review of necessary project reports and materials.

Additionally, they will assist the Project Management team in administering request for proposal (RFP) package development, bid, and selection process, and develop detailed scope of work documents for downstream contracts.

The role also involves regular interfacing with various agencies to obtain approvals, submit permit applications, and prepare responses in a timely manner.

Furthermore, the successful candidate will regularly interface with clients to develop relationships, build business, and expand services to new clients.

They will work within budget and schedule expectations for each project, apply technical and creative solutions to natural resources permitting, and assist with guidance on regulations and permitting through USACE, USEPA, and various state and local regulations pertaining to the environmental permitting of new projects.

The ideal candidate will also assist with the development of internal and external reports, including project budgeting, cost reports, project cash flow forecast, and project status reports to all stakeholders.

Participation in internal and external project risk reviews and consultation with the Legal Department as required are also key responsibilities of this role.

Travel may be required as necessary and required by project or client commitments.

**Salary**: $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

A Bachelors degree in Environmental Science or related degree from an accredited program and 5 years of applicable experience are required for this position.

Experience in multiple market sectors, especially electric utility, renewable, and oil & gas facility markets, is a plus.

The preferred applicant will also possess knowledge of regulations and permitting requirements for wetlands, threatened and endangered species, stormwater, and erosion & sediment control, cultural resources, and architectural history, and the National Environmental Policy Act.

Technical expertise in one or more of these fields is required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment, and ability to work overtime on short notice are essential qualities for this role.

A high proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to work collaboratively with others in a multi-discipline project team environment are also required.
