Job Title: Patient Care Technician Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team as a Patient Care Technician Specialist at FKC - Soldotna, Alaska.

About the Position:

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Cares for and monitors patients before, during, and post dialysis treatment.
  • Prepares dialysis equipment and its components for treatment.
  • Transports patients, records patient's vital signs, and ensures accurate documentation.
  • Explains dialysis procedures and machine operation to patients to alleviate anxieties.
  • Inspects and cleans access areas (fistula, graft, or catheter).
  • Monitors equipment settings and conformance to safety standards.
  • Starts patient treatment according to physician orders.
  • Responds to emergencies and malfunctions during treatment.
  • Assists in inventory management and supply stocking.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 months of dialysis, phlebotomy, or CNA/PCA experience preferred.
  • CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to distinguish primary colors and pass the Ishihara Color Vision Test.
  • Successful completion of our dialysis training program within 12 weeks of hire.
  • Must meet CMS-approved national certification requirements within the CMS timeline.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts and times.
  • Demonstrated English language proficiency and excellent communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in clinical applications within 90 days.
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent long periods of standing, bending, walking, and sitting.
  • The ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
