Biomechanics Professor

Gonzaga University, a Jesuit, Catholic institution in Spokane, WA, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Human Physiology. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to our vibrant undergraduate human physiology program.

The successful candidate will teach courses in biomechanics and related areas, advise students, and establish a research agenda that engages undergraduates. • Teach the equivalent of 18 credits per academic year in the Human Physiology program, including biomechanics, musculoskeletal dynamics, human anatomy, and other relevant courses.
• Advise Human Physiology majors and support their academic success.
• Participate in departmental, school, and university-level activities, contributing to our mission as a Catholic, Jesuit institution.
• Establish a research agenda that includes engaging undergraduates in the process, publishing peer-reviewed work, attending conferences, and participating in professional organizations.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

• A Ph.D. in Biomechanics or a related field (ABDs will be considered if the degree is expected by July 15, 2025).
• Demonstrated ability to design and assess quality learning experiences for undergraduate students.
• Evidence of skills in technology applied to classroom and laboratory work in data analysis and biomechanics.
• Demonstrated knowledge about cultural proficiency in academic settings.
• Demonstrated ability to support students from diverse backgrounds in the academic community.
