Job Title: Production Supervisor, Injection Molding

Job Summary:

We're seeking a highly organized and experienced Production Supervisor to lead our injection molding production team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you'll be responsible for overseeing the production of millions of consumer-facing electronic devices, known as user terminals, that we'll ship to customers around the world.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and steer the collective efforts of electronics production associates to ensure timely and efficient production.
  • Enforce area standards and run rules, including bi-annual reviews and disciplinary action, to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
  • Interface with area leadership and prioritize work based on production schedule and organizational goals to drive business results.
  • Schedule risk identification and mitigation to minimize production interruptions and ensure product quality.
  • Coordinate support organization efforts to minimize production interruptions and ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications by implementing quality control measures and addressing non-conformities.
  • Process non-conforming hardware to efficiently return them to conforming state and normal product flow.
  • Improve area safety and efficiency through regular auditing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Optimize product flow through the factory to reduce downtime and improve overall efficiency.
  • Root cause analysis and implementation of corresponding corrective action plans to address production issues.
  • Identify and eliminate defects within the area value stream to improve product quality.
  • Reduce downtime for product and personnel by implementing effective maintenance and repair strategies.
  • Support efforts to transition product from engineering development to full-rate production.
  • Review drawings and technical data packages for manufacturability and provide constructive feedback to engineering/design community.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing/testing environment.
  • 1+ years of experience leading a team or project.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Lean manufacturing training and experience.
  • Experience monitoring, tracking, and continually improving total cost equation.
  • Experience with applying lean manufacturing principles, efficiency methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret controlled documentation and processes such as: cable harnesses, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, mechanical drawings, GD&T, assembly procedures/work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, and parts lists.
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Failure Mode Effects Analysis.
  • PCBA, harness, electro-mechanical assembly, optical component manufacturing, and prototype development experience.
  • Experience preferred in fast-paced production environment with flight-quality hardware.
  • Six Sigma certification.
  • Able to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficient with computers, the ability to use MS Office, shop floor management software (ERP), and related programs.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be available for 2nd shift (5 PM to 5:30 AM).
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Able to travel for business trips as needed up to 10% on an ongoing basis.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces.
Compensation and Benefits:

Pay range: $105,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year. Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Exempt employees are eligible for 5 days of sick leave per year.
