Job Summary:

Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled Ground Systems Engineer to support our expanding initiatives within the NSS community. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of related capabilities such as cross domain solutions, cyber security architectural principles and the needed software development standards, ensuring secure and efficient communications between various security domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop software solutions that facilitate secure data transfer between various security domains, ensuring compliance with relevant security policies and standards.
  • Conduct system-level testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization to ensure robust and reliable operation of ground systems.
  • Support the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation, and maintenance.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on ground systems engineering best practices, including security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Ensure that all ground systems deployments meet or exceed regulatory and security compliance requirements, including those mandated by the TS/SCI clearance level.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and processes; provide training and support to operational teams as required.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including government agencies and contractors, to align ground systems engineering efforts with broader program objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in ground systems engineering, with a focus on NSS software development and network protocol security policies, standards and requirements.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols, encryption, and data integrity principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in system integration, testing, and performance tuning.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for software development (e.g., Agile, DevSecOps).
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and services, such as AWS or Azure.
