Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Saw Filer Technician to join our production team at Thompson River Lumber Co of MT, Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our saw filer equipment, performing routine maintenance tasks, and collaborating with colleagues to achieve our production goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily benching and fitting of band saws and other related equipment
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the filing room(s) and related locations
  • Assist with any and all other filing duties, including assisting other saw filers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues in a timely manner
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience as a fitter or benchman in a sawmill environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education preferred
Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive hourly wage based on experience, ranging from $25-$35 per hour, depending on qualifications. Additional benefits include:
