At ChildServe, we're seeking a skilled and passionate Aquatic Educator to join our team at our Johnston location. As an integral member of our swim program, you'll play a vital role in providing high-quality lessons and therapy sessions for children with special healthcare needs.

We offer a unique work environment where you can make a difference in the lives of our clients. Our indoor pool provides a warm and inviting space for lessons, respite groups, and therapy sessions year-round.

Schedule:

You'll have flexible evening or weekend hours based on your availability. We encourage our staff to maintain a healthy work-life balance, allowing them to manage their schedule effectively. This means you'll be able to work 2-10 hours per week, depending on your needs.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Teaching group parent/child swim lesson classes or conducting private 1:1 swim lessons.
  • Ensuring the safety and encouraging effective movements of students during class.
  • Implementing tailored movements or instructional feedback based on students' needs.
  • Providing clear, encouraging instructions to help students develop and grow.
  • Acting swiftly and responsibly in emergencies in line with ChildServe's policies and procedures.


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching swim lessons.
  • Current American Red Cross CPR and First Aid Certification or a willingness to obtain through ChildServe.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
  • The ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.

We estimate the salary for this position to be around $25-$30 per hour, based on national averages and industry standards. However, please note that salaries can vary based on factors such as location, experience, and qualifications.
