Landscaping and General Laborer

This position is responsible for performing a variety of landscaping tasks under the close supervision of the Operations Manager. Daily work may be performed at residential communities, commercial properties, parks, etc. A daily work schedule is created by the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cuts grass, maintains lawn, trims and edges around trees, walkways, flower beds, walls, and markers.
- Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, and twigs and removes weeds.
- Sprays lawn, shrub, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides.
- Applies mulch as needed.
- Clears debris and maintains driveways and walkways in safe condition.
- Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
- Assists with the loading and unloading of supplies, equipment, and/or merchandise.
- Cleans and properly stores equipment.
- Ability to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to using this equipment.
- Must use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- May be called upon to drive a truck with equipment and crew to all the work locations.
- Installs and constructs plants, flowers, and bushes according to a predetermined landscape design.
- Assists with site setup of plant materials.
- Keeps job site staging area clean and organized.
- Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
- Assists in keeping the job site tidy, organized, and safe.
- Uses all installation tools according to company safety policy.
- Maintains, cleans, and properly stores equipment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
- Previous custodial experience preferred.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. following appropriate safety procedures.
- Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time.
- Crawl in small and tight spaces; Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain).
- Walk and climb stairs; Handle, finger, grasp, and feel objects and equipment.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Ability quickly and easily navigates the property/building as required to meet the job functions.
- Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner.
- Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 3 ft).
Work Schedule:
Monday through Thursday, 7:00am-4:00pm
