Machinist I

We are seeking a skilled Machinist I to join our team at Ascentec Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machine tools to produce precision parts.
Key Responsibilities- Load and unload parts for machining up to 40 pounds.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance.
- Read and interpret manufacturing prints.
- Possess efficient math skills and basic understanding of geometric tolerance.
- Check parts using basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges.
- CNC setup and operation; tech tools, load programs and set/adjust work/tool offsets accordingly. Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma controls are a plus.
- Inspect machined parts following 1st Part and in process inspection protocol. CNC 3 axis experience, 4 & 5 axis machining experience is a plus.
- Able to change fixtures, replace tool changes and manage tool libraries.
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Able to multitask and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experienced in the set-up and run of 3-axis vertical CNC mills, 4 & 5 axis is a plus.
- Experienced with multiple metrology tools for measuring and recording part dimensions.
- Self-Starter / Self-Motivated / Flexible / Detail Oriented.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic.
