Job Title: Senior Engineering Manager

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineering Manager to lead our manufacturing engineering team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving process improvements, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful launch of new products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead process engineering teams to support business growth through NPI projects, improve material productivity, and provide cost-effective solutions.
  • Plan and manage department budgets, including personnel planning, departmental operating expenses, capital expenditures, and fixturing for new and existing products.
  • Identify and assign efficient projects to departmental members, including manufacturing engineers and technicians, to meet corporate and departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with the Process Development group and other production personnel to develop improved processes and tooling to reduce labor time and costs.
  • Apply expertise and leadership to develop the team and work with suppliers to address technical challenges during projects.
  • Lead, mentor, supervise, and develop team members, providing direction for the interpretation and application of company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in global analytical instruments and/or medical device companies.
  • Shown experience (5 years) in managing a team.
  • Solid understanding and expertise in analytical design and development is helpful.
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other related process improvement tools.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary range estimated for this position based in California is $155,900.00–$207,900.00.
  • Variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results.
