Job Summary:

As a Behavioral Health Counselor with the State of Georgia, you will play a vital role in promoting optimum mental health for individuals and groups. This position involves counseling with an emphasis on prevention and behavior modification, working under broad supervision to help clients overcome dependencies, recover from illness, and adjust to life.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition based on review of client information
Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge
Counsel clients in individual and group sessions to help them overcome dependencies, recover from illness, and adjust to life
Maintain confidentiality of records relating to client's treatment

Requirements:

Master's degree from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in related field AND Four years of related experience OR One year of experience at the lower level Behavioral Hlth Counselor 2 (HCP101) or position equivalent
