Diesel Fleet Maintenance Supervisor

US Foods, Inc. is seeking an experienced Diesel Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in a dynamic role that combines technical expertise with leadership skills. This position is responsible for supervising a team of diesel mechanics and technicians who maintain the company's fleet of road equipment, including tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units.
About the Role:
We offer a competitive salary of $52 per hour (based on 40 hours/week), plus a retention bonus of $10,000, annual tool allowance, and comprehensive benefits starting day one, including medical, dental, vision, 401K, and life insurance. The successful candidate will work a Sunday-to-Friday schedule from 11pm to 7:30am and be required to perform overtime when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of diesel mechanics and technicians to ensure efficient maintenance of the company's fleet
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance within company standards and document all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability
- Handle road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate records of assigned repairs using the Shop Fax system
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines
- Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and maximize fleet availability
Requirements:
- 3 years of commercial diesel mechanic or reefer experience, or
- 2 years of diesel mechanic experience with TK or Refrigeration certification
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical ability, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with EPA and OSHA regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet
- Computer and software experience
- Willingness to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs
