Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Claims Examiner to join our team at Crawford & Company. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for investigating and settling advanced, large loss, complex claims promptly and equitably under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigative Activity: Manage all aspects of investigative activity on complex claims, directing the discovery and litigation strategy with legal counsel.
  • Claims Analysis: Analyze claims activity and prepare reports for clients/carriers and management.
  • Reserve Establishment: Establish reserves, using independent judgment and expertise, and authorize payments within scope of authority, settling claims in the most cost-effective manner and ensuring timely issuance of disbursements.
  • Claim Settlement: Settle claims promptly and equitably and issue company drafts in payments for claims within authority limits.
  • Subrogation and Recovery: Develop subrogation and third-party recovery potential and follow reclaim procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Technical claims investigations/settling experience with 4-8 years experience in Claims or similar organization.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Workers Compensation (WC) Adjuster License required according to jurisdictional requirements.
  • Skills: Strong written and oral communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
