Automotive Collections Specialist

Job Highlights:

As an Automotive Collections Specialist at Westlake Portfolio Services, you will play a critical role in overseeing the handling of accounts that have fallen over three payments past due. Your primary responsibility will be to contact customers via phone and employ skip tracing techniques to locate those who are difficult to reach. You will need to negotiate with delinquent accounts to bring them current and work closely with repossession agents to secure collateral.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect accounts that are three or more payments past due.
  • Bring delinquency down in set queues.
  • Call customers who are past due three payments.
  • Skip trace to locate customers who are delinquent and have collateral.
  • Make arrangements and negotiate with delinquent accounts to bring them current.
  • Work with repossession agents to secure collateral.

Requirements:
  • Skip trace knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of state and federal laws applicable to collections, including the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.
  • Good computer and typing skills.
  • Team player.
  • Good negotiation skills and excellent telephone etiquette.
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Web navigation and/or web-based applications.
