Clerical Support Specialist

About the RoleThis position involves assisting as a telephone operator, handling incoming calls from internal and external sources, utilizing various lines, including Stat, Administration, ED Consult, Operations Call Center, and Operator lines. The schedule is rotating and encompasses 24 hours/7 days of operation, including weekends, holidays, and all tours.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain high standards of customer service and ensure prompt responses to employee inquiries.
- Answer EHC internal service calls regarding Engineering & Maintenance, Environmental Service, Linen, Biomedical, and Materials Management services.
- Utilize CISCO Finesse System and established STAT lines for Elmhurst and Queens Hospital internal/external telephones.
- Operate TMS online work order system and Cisco Finesse system for employee and departmental information.
- Create web-based work order requests and follow up on status updates and closures.
- Escalate procedures to departmental management for swift assessment and resolution.
- Enter data into systems regarding work order details and monitor respiratory, oxygen, and engineering alarms.
- Activate emergency announcements via overhead PA and WebXchange paging system and report STAT, ED Consult, ERT, and other emergency call events.
- Notify and follow up on fire and disaster plan procedures according to protocol.
- Provide coverage for additional tours based on staffing requirements.
We are seeking a qualified individual with:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Six months of full-time satisfactory clerical experience and/or public interaction experience.
