About the Role

Aerotek's client is seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join their team in Washington, D.C.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure safe Maintenance of Traffic (M.O.T) control by setting up and removing traffic control devices, including cones, message/arrow boards, and temporary signage.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment such as transformers, switchboards, panel boards, conduit systems, disconnects, contactors, circuit breakers, motor starters, relays, controllers, motors, heaters, CCTV cameras, lane control signals, electronic message signs, lighting, PLC, VFD, and more.
  • Apply advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair faults across various electrical assets and systems, adhering to NEC codes and requirements.
  • Collaborate with other trades, teams, and inspectors to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repair of electrical equipment.
  • Participate in emergency response rotations, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate knowledge of electrical assets and systems found in complex industrial electrical environments.
  • Practice safe work methods to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Recognize hazards inherent in routine and non-routine tasks and take necessary precautions.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the job.
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Perform basic math functions and understand instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and electrical schematics, and applicable electrical meters.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Licensed Electrical Journeyman in the County/State of the Project.
  • Two years' experience at journeyman level in an industrial/commercial environment (preferred).
  • Licensed Electrical Journeyman or ability to obtain license within 3 months of hire (required).
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (required).
