Automotive Service Technician

We are seeking a skilled Lube Technician to join our team at Skyline Ford. As a key member of our service department, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive exceptional service and their vehicles are properly maintained.
Responsibilities- Monitor and optimize our service processes to ensure efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with our South Salem and Keizer locations to ensure proper staffing and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Test and inspect vehicles to identify and diagnose any issues, ensuring all systems and components are secure and functioning properly.
- Isolate and troubleshoot problems, using your analytical skills to determine the root cause.
- Drive vehicles for testing purposes, inspect and refill fluid levels as necessary, and ensure tire pressure is at the recommended level.
- Install new oil drain plugs and oil filters, communicating oil levels to your teammates and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Diagnose and repair vehicles in a timely and accurate manner, using power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools as needed.
- Repair or replace worn parts to prevent breakdowns and maintain the overall condition of our customers' vehicles.
- Prior experience as a lube technician is required.
- A deep understanding of automobiles and the ability to diagnose issues quickly are essential.
- Effective analytical and communication skills, as well as a willingness to learn and improve, are necessary for success in this role.
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures, and specifications is a must.
- High School Diploma or GED is required, with ASE Certification or a technical degree preferred.
- One year of experience in a service department is desired, along with a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- A competitive hourly rate starting at $17.00, with opportunities for advancement based on experience.
- After a 90-day probationary period, enjoy 40 hours of front-loaded Paid Time Off, medical and dental coverage with a 75% employer-paid premium share, and employer-paid Group Life Insurance.
- 7 paid Holidays each year, plus additional benefits including Vision, Voluntary Life Insurance, Short Term Disability, and more.
- Profit Share retirement fund eligibility after 1 year of service, along with employee discounts in parts, sales, and service.
Our typical schedule is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and Tuesday-Saturday 7am-4pm, subject to change.
