Program Therapist, Per Diem Butler

As a Program Therapist at Butler Hospital, you will play a vital role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with a wide range of psychosocial problems. You will apply individual and group cognitive-behavioral interventions to assist patients and their families in resolving personal and environmental issues.
Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct initial psychiatric and behavioral evaluations as assigned by the Program Manager.
- Complete biopsychosocial evaluations, obtaining relevant history, psychosocial stressors, initial working/treatment diagnosis, and formulation as assigned by the IOP Program Manager.
- Develop individualized behavioral treatment plans.
- Provide evidence-based cognitive-behavioral interventions.
- Lead and co-lead exposure-based cognitive behavioral aftercare groups.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning to effectively meet the unique treatment needs of patients.
- Update attending physicians and psychologists on patients' level of acuity, giving special attention to management of potential emergencies.
- Advocate for patients' needs within the department and with outside agencies.
- Provide consultation to IP and PHP to develop/maintain continuity of care.
- Provide community outreach and assist with triaging referrals to programs.
- Master's Degree or above.
- License required. Independent license preferred.
- Experience in a psychiatric setting is required. Training and experience in delivering exposure-based CBT is necessary, particularly with specialty areas (OCD, anxiety, hoarding) or completing continuing education/in-services in that area will be required.
- Interest and commitment in the programs at Butler Hospital and the Dept of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown.
