Job Summary

UNC Health Care seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to join our team in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide high-quality, cost-effective care to patients within your scope of practice in collaboration with a supervising physician.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain relevant health and medical history, perform thorough physical assessments, and review and interpret pertinent diagnostic tests/results.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing/ordering of appropriate evidence-based pharmacological agents consistent with departmental guidelines and privileging.
  • Actively incorporate evidence-based hospital initiatives to improve patient care.
  • Conduct preventive health screenings based on age, history, and patient needs.
  • Maintain clear, comprehensive, and concise records of all aspects of patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with general disease and pathologic processes, as well as specialty literature, including awareness of developing areas.
  • Derive correct diagnoses through synthesis of clinical data and proper selection and interpretation of diagnostic studies.
  • Revised the plan of care to meet the changing needs of the patient.
  • Prioritize work and assist staff to provide prompt and efficient client flow.
  • Consistently maintain high productivity according to identified standards.
  • Lead/participate in projects to improve productivity.
  • Perform medical procedures consistent with departmental guidelines, privileging, and clinical roles/responsibilities.
Education and Licensure
  • Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Certified Nurse Midwife) in the state of North Carolina.
  • Board certification if required by the Department.
  • DEA.

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication and strong analytical skills.
  • Effective interaction to ensure the successful care of patients in the clinical setting.
  • Documentation in the medical record to substantiate accurate billing.
