Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Abbey Vet Hospital and Lone Tree Vet Hospital in Antioch. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our furry patients and their owners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet clients and obtain necessary information and pet medical histories
  • Assist with restraining pets during examinations and procedures
  • Provide support to veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other procedures
  • Perform basic care duties, such as cleaning and dressing wounds, administering medication, and collecting samples
  • Assist with diagnostic imaging and lab work, including blood tests and analysis of urine samples
  • Provide basic vaccine information to clients about their pets
  • Sterilize tools and restock examination and operating rooms
  • Inform and educate families about at-home care for their pets
  • Update patient files and handle other administrative duties as necessary

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of veterinary experience
  • Passion for working with animals
  • Excellent communication and organizing skills
  • Able to restrain larger pets when necessary
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Flexible schedule
