Job Summary:

The Chief Programs Officer is a critical leadership position at Boys & Girls Clubs, responsible for developing, promoting, and managing a robust life and workforce readiness program. This individual will direct and innovate ideas to drive club-wide operations of all programs, overseeing program activities with broad oversight.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Direct managers in fulfilling and making appropriate choices for our members in educational, personal, physical, social, emotional, vocational, and spiritual needs.
  • Innovate new models of organization-wide program goals (outcomes and outputs) that ensure compliance and organizational success.
  • Develop teams to manage Workforce Development programs and activities for BGCAA Club Members that create workforce readiness.
  • Commit to data-driven decision making with a focus on Optimal Club Experience and Optimal Staff Experience.

Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and implement long-term strategies to achieve organizational goals.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of the organization's programs to ensure programs are aligned with the organization's vision and mission.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the strategic plan, adjusting as needed to ensure ongoing success of the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with organization's expectations including but not limited to reporting, assessments, and evaluations.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress towards strategic goals and identify areas for improvement.

Resource Management:
  • Oversee the planning, execution, monitoring, and control of projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, to meet the organizational needs.
  • Participate in the development; implementation and monitoring of the Club's annual budget, ensuring that club-wide programs and activities are operated within established budgetary guidelines.

Board - Committee Development:
  • Participate in and report on operations and youth development strategy at BGCAA board meetings.
  • Coordinate and lead Impact Committee meetings, including preparing meeting agendas and reporting on meeting activities.

Requirements:
  • Ability to develop a clear and compelling vision for the organization's continued success.
  • Anticipate industry trends and potential challenges and make necessary adjustments to ongoing programs to ensure the efficacy of the programs.
  • Creating and implementing comprehensive strategic plans.
  • Ability to set a vision for excellence across multiple Club locations and develop a training, support, and accountability structure to ensure the successful implementation of that vision.
  • Leadership skills include the ability to persuade and motivate staff to achieve organizational goals.
  • Knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs, procedures and principles and practices of non-profit organizations and youth development services.
  • Ability to manage and implement multiple projects and programs and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Attend regular management meetings.
  • Be able to perform other duties as assigned or requested by CEO.
