Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chief Administrative Officer to join our team. The CAO will report directly to the CEO and will oversee the organization's day-to-day administrative effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the CEO as a trusted advisor to ensure alignment to the organization's vision, mission, and strategic plan.
  • Lead the development and implementation of administrative policies and procedures to ensure operational excellence.
  • Foster a collaborative leadership environment to promote innovation and efficiency.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the organization's departments and management.
  • Develop and implement succession planning strategies for the leadership team.
  • Attend regular meetings with the CEO and board of directors to provide strategic guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with senior management and department heads to achieve positive outcomes and navigate any roadblocks.
  • Facilitate strategic planning and process improvement initiatives.
  • Review and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Foster a healthy and inclusive work environment that promotes employee engagement and retention.

Requirements

  • A deep understanding of the student population and the ability to develop and implement strategies to support their needs.
  • Minimum 10 years of extensive administrative and senior leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of fiscal planning, reporting, and budgeting.
  • Proven experience as a leader in finance, marketing, human resources, and/or IT.
  • Proven experience working with a board of directors.
  • Proven multi-year experience with a portfolio of leadership accomplishments.
  • Strong understanding of advancements in nonprofit, education, and organizational development.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to keep up with ever-changing nonprofit dynamics.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field; MBA a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to inform business decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
