Overview

The Mobile Equipment Maintenance Specialist is a key role in the U.S. Army's wheeled vehicle maintenance team. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail, with a focus on ensuring the reliability and readiness of our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair wheeled vehicles, trailers, and material handling equipment systems
  • Inspect and test automotive electrical systems, including wiring harnesses and starting and charging systems
  • Perform vehicle recovery operations

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Aptitude for mechanical work and interest in joining the Army
  • Age 17-34
  • Meet height/weight requirements
  • No tattoos on hands, face, or above the neck (ring tattoos allowed)
  • No felony convictions
  • No major medical procedures that would prevent military service

Training and Development:

  • 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training
  • 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training

Hiring Requirements:

  • Interest in auto mechanics and industrial arts
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems
  • Understanding of automotive engines and their operation

Compensation Package:

  • Total compensation includes housing, medical, food, special pay, and vacation time
  • Potential cash bonuses up to $50K for enlisting in certain Military Occupational Specialties
