Job Summary

The Strategic Philanthropy Development Lead is responsible for developing and implementing data-driven strategies to identify, qualify, and cultivate major gift prospects. This role oversees portfolio management, prospect research, data analysis, and moves management strategies to build healthy portfolios and a robust pipeline of major gift prospects for Baylor Scott & White Health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate Healthy Portfolios: Ensure development staff maintain and maximize the philanthropic potential of their portfolios through regular feedback on efficiency, productivity, and opportunity.
  • Drive Grateful Patient Identification: Screen, research, and prioritize grateful patients and families through physician referrals and screening data.
  • Identify New Prospects: Proactively identify new prospects for major, annual, and planned gifts, including individuals, companies, and foundations.
  • Provide Prospect Research: Research, organize, and evaluate prospects' financial status, ability to give, philanthropic inclinations, and interests, and align them with Baylor Scott & White Health's mission.
  • Inform Strategy: Actively participate in prospect strategy development, drive multiple projects with tight deadlines, and adapt to new situations quickly.
  • Ensure Data Integrity: Manage the collection, analysis, and thorough documentation of major and planned gifts prospects, ensuring data integrity of major donor and prospect information collected during research and major gift activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree or 9 years of related work experience.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in fundraising and support operations, preferably with familiarity with relational databases, reporting tools, spreadsheets, charts, graphs, presentation software, and complex narrative documents.
  • Skills: Strong skills with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as excellent communication and analytical skills.
