Job Summary
The Clinical Healthcare Professional at Zufall Health Center will assist patients with their healthcare needs by filling prescriptions, providing excellent customer service, and supervising Pharmacy Associates.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares, reviews, and dispenses medication orders by following Providers orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibility and advising on interventions.
- Compound and dispense medications as prescribed by doctors and nursing staff, by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, or overseeing these activities.
- Assess the identity, strength, and purity of medications.
- Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions filled.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with medical related issues and providing healthcare counseling.
- Supervise the work completed by Pharmacy Technicians and support staff while on duty.
- Assist Supervising Pharmacist to train, coach, and manage Pharmacist associates.
- Maintain appropriate security of the Pharmacy department.
- Handle and resolve customer issues, complaints and questions to build customer trust and loyalty.
- Collaborate with other health care professionals to plan, monitor, review, and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of drugs and drug regimens, providing advice on drug applications and characteristics.
- Plan, implement, and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security and proper disposal.
- Analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and to prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions.
- Provides information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage and proper medication storage.
- Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and following infection control guidelines.
- Prioritize Pharmacy Department tasks and follow through to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Indirect supervisor of pharmacy technicians when on duty.
- Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Completion of college degree leading to RPh or greater.
- Graduate of an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy with a Pharmacy degree.
- Valid NJ State license in Pharmacy.
- BLS certificate required.
- Maintain required education for licensure.
- Minimum two years' experience in retail pharmacy.
