Veterinary Hospital Pharmacy Technician Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the University of Georgia's Veterinary Teaching Hospital. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in the preparation and compounding of medications for our clients and research animals.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the compounding and preparation of medications according to species and animal size/weight
- Accurately read and understand medication compounds to calculate appropriate dilutions and concentrations
- Perform extensive mathematical calculations to determine medication measurements
- Inspect pharmacy and VTH for expired or adulterated medications and ensure proper disposal
- Provide information and/or refer queries to the appropriate personnel
- Ensure all medications and fees are properly charged in the computer system
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy
- Previously passed and maintained an active national pharmacy certification program/test
- Strong mathematical skills and ability to accurately calculate compounding formulations
- Proficiency in computer applications and ability to ensure accurate billing and client information
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with excellent customer service skills and a high degree of confidentiality. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
