Radiologic Technologist

Estes Park Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist, you will be responsible for carrying out diagnostic tests using digital radiographic units, fixed and portable fluoroscopic equipment, and working in tandem with other medical personnel to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate digital radiography equipment and portable fluoroscopic equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients.
- Prepare patients for radiological exams by positioning them appropriately to obtain diagnostic images per physician's order.
- Demonstrate competency in the operation of digital radiography units, including portable x-ray units, C-arms, and DEXA.
- Train in DEXA and other imaging modalities as needed.
- Perform tube-warm up procedure and detector calibration/QC daily.
- Minimize radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques and applying shielding as needed.
- Call for, transfer, position, and manage patients independently with a high degree of professional care, tact, and courtesy.
- Ensure patient safety at all times while in the Diagnostic Imaging Department.
- Document fluoro times for all fluoroscopic procedures using C-Arm and fixed systems.
- Ensure patients are comfortable during imaging procedures and explain the exam to them.
- Adjust exposure techniques for pediatric patients.
- Wear a radiation monitor at all times while working in the department.
- Practice good stewardship of equipment/DR Detector.
- Maintain sterile surgical technique and comply with isolation precautions as appropriate.
- Be thoroughly familiar with all departmental routines, scheduling techniques, record keeping, and procedures offered.
- Understand the use of Meditech, PACS, InteleConnect, and Medhost systems.
- Assist radiologists or staff physicians in administering radiopaque materials for examinations.
- Assume responsibility for general departmental neatness and cleanliness, including orderly storage of materials.
- Maintain professional affiliations and certifications for own professional growth and as required by such organizations.
- Maintain familiarity with and comply with professional ethics.
- Rotate within the department to cover call on evenings and weekends, as required.
- Participate in committees as assigned.
- Perform in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulatory agency standards.
- Perform in accordance with EPH vision, mission, and goals.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Perform on-call duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent; graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- American Heart Association BLS.
