Job Summary

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill, or transfer station. This role requires the ability to efficiently and safely operate a range of equipment, including forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, and front-end loaders. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on customer service, with a commitment to meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently, using proper safety standards.
  • Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable materials and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Perform minor service on equipment and document any necessary repairs.
  • Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
  • One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
  • Good customer service skills and a commitment to meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
