Job Summary:

The Fashion Retail Store Director is responsible for driving sales and profit growth in the store by implementing strategies to deliver exceptional customer experiences. This involves setting goals, monitoring key performance indicators, and making data-driven decisions to optimize results.

This role reports to our Area Sales Manager and oversees a team of direct reports, including Store Visual Managers, Department Managers, Department Supervisors, Visual Merchandisers, Cash Office Responsible, and Sales Associates.

In terms of day-to-day responsibilities, the Fashion Retail Store Director will:

  • Analyze and follow up on sales and profit KPIs, taking corrective actions to maximize results
  • Ensure store operations adhere to H&M standards and best practices, including scheduling to maximize conversion and enable commercial activities
  • Collaborate with the Area and Store teams to prioritize actions and provide feedback on store allocations to secure a good garment level that impacts selling
  • Maintain store maintenance in a cost-efficient manner, meeting H&M standards, and initiating actions as needed
  • Prevent loss together with the Store Team, ensuring all Audit guidelines are followed
  • Actively participate in executing store routines and tasks, including delivery truck, garment processing, reductions, and price changes

The Fashion Retail Store Director will also:

  • Oversee recruitment, training, development, and succession planning for the Store in line with H&M best practices
  • Evaluate and manage the performance of Store Team members, executing dialogues, development plans, feedback, and follow-ups, and taking actions to improve performance to support business needs
  • Ensure regular and clear communication to the Store team on Business Performance, Company Culture & Values, and Country/Sales Market/Area/Store goals through daily Store Meetings and weekly/monthly Leadership Meetings
  • Ensure health & safety, legal, and security issues are handled according to H&M standards and local laws, securing employee and customer safety at all times
  • Strengthen Company Culture by promoting feedback in daily work and coaching the Store Team to do the same

  • Ability to lift in excess of 20 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, stretch, engage in repetitive motions, push, pull, and carry items (mannequins, clothing, totes, torsos, etc.) for short distances
  • Ability to climb a ladder and use a step stool
  • Open availability including evenings and weekends
  • 2-3+ years of transferrable experience leading management-level employees welcome
  • Basic computer skills such as browser navigation, software interaction, and data entry required
  • May be required to travel as necessary to support other stores, attend meetings, and training

We offer an estimated salary of $65,000-$73,500 per year, based on location and experience.
