Alaska Regional Hospital is committed to delivering patient-centered care to every patient on every visit. We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) for our Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

About the Role

  • This is a supervisory position that will assist the Nursing Unit Director in planning, implementing and assessing the daily functions of nursing care and services provided in the unit.
  • You will provide leadership and management oversight for staff members and departmental resources and processes.
  • Facilitate interventions to meet patients' physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural and educational needs; coordinate functions with physicians and other departments of the hospital in a spirit that fosters positive working relationships.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide direct supervision and guidance to nursing staff in the ICU.
  2. Maintain accurate records and reports as required by the hospital and regulatory agencies.
  3. Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to nursing care and services.
  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  5. Serve as a role model, mentor, educator and evaluator in the Critical Care area.
  6. Facilitate ongoing performance improvement activities which correlate to the Hospital-wide Performance Improvement Program.

Requirements

  • Current Alaska nursing license in good standing.
  • Associate's Degree in nursing required, bachelor's preferred.
  • CCRN certification required.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS) within 90 days of hire.
  • NIH Required.
  • Minimum requirement: two years of Medical Step Down or ICU experience.
