Electrochemistry Researcher

Sublime Systems, a pioneering technology company, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented R&D Co-op or Intern to contribute to the development of our revolutionary cement manufacturing process. Our mission is to transform the cement industry by replacing fossil fuel-fired kilns with an electrochemical system that operates at ambient temperature, eliminating the use of fossil fuel and the need for limestone.

• Conduct electrochemistry research, including hands-on lab-scale testing, data analysis, and literature reviews.
• Work closely with our experienced researchers and receive extensive mentorship.
• Focus on electrochemical process optimization and materials characterization.
• Perform experiments, analyze data, and present findings to our team.
• Contribute to the development of our process through literature reviews and champion safety in the development and execution of experimental processes.

• Pursuing a B.S. in chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of chemical engineering and chemistry fundamentals.
• Able to perform lab work, including preparing solutions, setting up and operating laboratory reactors, and carrying out analytical measurements.
• Able to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
• Familiarity with physical, chemical, and electrochemical characterization techniques, such as SEM, ICP, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and voltammetry.
• Superior presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, distill information, consult, and suggest new approaches.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail, focusing on accuracy and quality, without losing sight of the bigger picture.
