Position Overview

Wavetronix is in search of a dedicated full-time Signal Processing Engineer with a robust foundation in digital signal processing, algorithm development, and embedded systems. The engineer will engage in the research, design, and creation of signal processing algorithms tailored for radar sensors, focusing on their application-specific performance. This role encompasses the implementation and enhancement of proposed algorithms on memory-constrained embedded processor platforms.

Key Responsibilities

This position plays a vital role in ensuring our products meet high-quality standards and assists the company in adhering to rigorous development timelines. The selected candidate will actively contribute as a team member within a high-performing team environment.

A successful Signal Processing Engineer will achieve the following:

Initial 90 Days: Gain a comprehensive understanding of current Wavetronix radar systems, emphasizing signal processing algorithms and embedded architecture. Demonstrate essential sensor functionalities, including speed algorithms, detection, and tracking methodologies. Facilitate sensor integration with traffic controllers, backend systems, and user interfaces while assisting other engineers with data collection and analysis.

Year One: Research, develop, and validate algorithms for target parameter estimation, subsequently implementing optimized signal processing algorithms in C/C++ on an embedded platform. Cultivate expertise in sensor hardware interactions with other traffic devices and systems. Complete a minor firmware release for the sensor.

Beyond Year One: Establish a solid foundation in both algorithm development and embedded systems for radar sensors. Propose innovative sensor features and mentor team members to enhance overall team success.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in signal processing and algorithm development, including digital FIR/IIR filters, signal tracking, and estimation techniques.
  • Proficiency in designing with DSPs, ARM processors, FPGAs, etc.
  • Programming skills in C and C++, preferably on embedded processor platforms.
  • Demonstrated capability to prototype and assess algorithms using MATLAB or Python.
  • A degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 4 to 10 years of relevant development experience.
  • Strong personal motivation, work ethic, and commitment to high standards for individual and team outcomes.
