About the Role
The ideal candidate for this Supply Chain Project Manager position will possess exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to engage and align various internal teams to advance strategic projects. This role entails the proactive management and optimization of excess or surplus inventory at Spellman High Voltage, ensuring it aligns with the company's financial objectives and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Spearhead critical initiatives to reduce surplus inventory by at least 25% year-over-year, through strategic planning and execution.
• Direct the analysis and mitigation of project risks and issues through robust qualitative and quantitative assessments.
• Strategically manage the company's excess inventory to maximize value, minimize financial losses, and ensure compliance with both company and international standards.
• Craft and implement innovative strategies for the disposal of surplus inventory, including sales, returns, donations, and recycling.
• Collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders such as legal, finance, purchasing, sales, and operations to align surplus inventory management with overarching business objectives.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers and vendors to facilitate the return or exchange of surplus items, optimizing vendor relationships and inventory levels.
• Drive the reduction of holding costs and enhance inventory turnover through targeted strategies and opportunities.
• Establish and maintain rigorous standard operating procedures for excess inventory management and documentation.
• Champion continuous improvement in surplus inventory management processes by leveraging advanced technology and data analytics.
• Partner with the Project Management Office (PMO) and IT departments to streamline and automate inventory data processes.
Requirements
• A BS degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related quantitative discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, inventory control, logistics, marketing, sales, or a related field.
• Exceptional analytical abilities with a demonstrated capacity to interpret complex data and drive strategic decisions.
• Expertise in utilizing advanced inventory management software and ERP systems to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a strong track record of mentoring, coaching, and leading a diverse and innovative team of professionals.
• Experience in facilitating cross-functional collaboration with key internal stakeholders, particularly in Finance, Operations, and Sales, to achieve integrated business solutions.
• Superior organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at building relationships and influencing at all levels within the organization.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time, both domestically and internationally, to meet business needs.
• Experience working in a complex global supply chain environment, with a focus on optimizing processes and systems across international boundaries.
• Advanced problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous process improvement and innovation to drive business efficiencies and growth.
This position offers a remote work model. Our good faith estimates of the salary range for this role is $110,000 to $125,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a highly competitive benefits package.
