About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Public Health Analyst to join our team at the City of New York's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. This role will play a critical part in shaping the city's public health policies and initiatives.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related field, with experience in data analysis, program evaluation, and policy development. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and evaluate programs aimed at preventing and controlling vaccine-preventable diseases.

The successful candidate will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present complex technical information to stakeholders at all levels. A master's degree from an accredited college or university is required, with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement systematic approaches for evaluating the effectiveness of public health programs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to integrate equity principles into program design and implementation.
  • Design and enhance robust data collection infrastructure for evaluation, utilizing existing data and systems to support comprehensive assessments.
  • Lead research and evaluation projects, communicating findings through presentations, manuscripts, and other scientific outputs.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including premium-free health insurance, a public sector defined benefit pension plan, and a tax-deferred savings program.
