Solar Installation Team Lead Job Description

About the Role:

Purelight Power is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Installation Team Lead to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing and leading a team of solar installers, ensuring the successful completion of solar installation projects, and maintaining the highest level of quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of solar installers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Collaborate with the construction manager to review employee performance, compensation, and corrective action for the installation team.
  • Train new installers on solar installation practices, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Review projects before installation to identify potential issues and mitigate risks.
  • Work on roofs, ladders, crawlspaces, attics, and other residential and commercial areas, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Implement quality control checks with each installation team to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Interact with clients in a professional and respectful manner, providing excellent customer service.
  • Accurately upload project information to our CRM system.
  • Stay up-to-date with code requirements, system installation, and industry developments.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and OSHA safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of PV equipment and installation practices.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work on roofs, with a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Comfortable working outside in various weather conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in leadership or management.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain a high level of physical fitness.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools, including ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a solar installer or in the solar industry.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a lead installer or in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with roof work and general carpentry.
