World Relief Chicagoland is seeking an experienced and compassionate Volunteer Mobilization Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Volunteer Engagement team, you will play a vital role in empowering volunteers to make a tangible difference in the lives of refugees and immigrants across Chicagoland.

Job Description

The Volunteer Mobilization Coordinator will oversee the onboarding process for Chicagoland volunteers, including application review, screening, orientation facilitation, processing background checks and reference checks, and tracking completion of orientation courses on World Relief's e-learning platform. You will also maintain accurate records of volunteer data and status, provide ongoing feedback to headquarters about system errors or improvements needed, and coordinate reporting volunteer and intern metrics to headquarters and local office on a monthly basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and screen volunteer applications, ensuring timely completion of the onboarding process
  • Facilitate orientation sessions, providing clear guidance and support to new volunteers
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer data, including progress through the onboarding process
  • Collaborate with the national Community Engagement team to track and report volunteer metrics
  • Communicate volunteer needs to church partners, updating them on their members' participation in service
Requirements
  • Mature and personal Christian faith
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Relief's Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity, and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
  • Driver's license and access to a vehicle
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • People-oriented and comfortable speaking to strangers in one-on-one and group contexts
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Passion for helping people connect in ministry with their community

The estimated salary range for this position is $23 - $24 per hour. We offer a competitive benefits package and employee discount program for full-time and part-time employees.
