Job Summary

The North Dakota State University (NDSU) Agriculture Budget Office is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Budget Manager to support the NDSU Extension Service, Northern Crops Institute (NCI), and ND Agricultural Experiment Station (NDAES).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage annual budgets for NDAES Ag Facilities, ensuring compliance and providing financial reports.
  • Oversee capital project accounting, ensuring accurate tracking of expenses and contracts.
  • Support HR and payroll-related budget management activities.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in financial management, including budgeting and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to track and manage complex financial data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in managing budgets in an educational or governmental setting.
  • Familiarity with grant and contract funding, particularly federally funded programs.
  • Experience in capital project accounting.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft or similar financial systems.
